Many tourist areas suffer from a litter problem. Litter in tourist areas spoils the view, pollutes the environment, and takes time and money to clean up. Moreover, the graffiti problem also affects many tourist attractions. Some tourists carve the characters like “someone has visited this place” on the wall or statues, which causes damage, irremediable in some cases, to the cultural relics and historic sites.
In view of all the harmful influences of tourist pollution, I think it is high time that we took measures to tackle the problem. To begin with, we should raise public awareness of tourism environmental protection. In addition, the administration of the tourist locations should take legal measures to fine those visitors who damage cultural relics.
