考研英语近义词辨析 带你飞跃词汇难关

在考研英语的众多词汇当中，有一些含义、用法相似度较高的近义词，历来是很多考生难以分辨，在使用过程中出现混淆。今天，北外网课（北京外国语大学网络课堂）老师也归纳了考研英语中出现较多的近义词，帮助各位考生准确辨析。

特色

Characteristic和feature都有“特色”的意思

characteristic基本的意思是“特征”，指恒定的、使某人或物有别于其他的人或物的属性和特质

The nationalities inChina have all retained their special national characteristics.    

Feature的意思是“特色”或“特点”；feature不表示属性或特质，而是指某物（如脸面、景色、物体、性格）的一部分，因其外形或重要性突出而引人注目

The most outstandingnational feature is the language.

地区

Area, region, zone 和belt都可译做“地区”，“地带”。

Area通常指面积可测量或计算的地区，界限分明的地区，但不是行政上的地理单位

vast uncultivatedareas  mountain area    

或指某地/楼/房间的有特殊用途的一部分

an outdoor playarea    

Area还指具有某种特色、看上去与周围不同的“表面”部分

a pink area on one'sarm    

Region常指地理上有天然界限或具有某种特色（如气候、自然条件）自成一个单位的地区。在这个意义上，region有时与area通用，有时也指较大的行政单位

autonomousregions  

Region还可用来指人体的某个部位

Zone通常指地理上的“（地）带”，尤其是图表上的环形地带

the torrid, temperateand frigid zones

Zone还可以指带有一定军事、政治特色或为某特殊目的而设的地区

Belt与zone同义，通常指地面、海洋、空间狭长地带、区域；美国人也用来表示“产区”

此外area可用来指知识、兴趣、活动的领域

Region也可用来表示知识、活动的领域，讨论的范围；意思与sphere和realm相同

分配

Allot, allocate和distribute三个词都可做“分配”讲。

Allot往往带有“任意性”，不包含“平均”或“公 平”的意思

One-child familiesare allotted the same amount of housing land and private plot as 2-childfamilies.    

Allocate常与表“金钱”、“财产”、“领土”、“权力”这类词连用，有“给予某人/集团专用”的意思

One-child urbanfamilies are allocated the same housing space as 2-child families...  

Distribute基本的意思是“将某物分成若干部分后分发给若干人”

The fund has beendistributed in the best interests of those in need of relief.    

Distribute, allot, allocate三个词都可以和“一笔款”连用，但distribute表示分配给“若干人”，而allot和allocate还可表示分配“给某个人专用”。
