Eddy: Hello.  Welcome toAustralia.  May I see your passport,please?

埃迪：你好。欢迎来到澳大利亚。我可以看一下你的护照吗？

Don:  Sure.  Here it is.

唐：当然。请看。

Eddy:  Where are you comingfrom?

埃迪：你从哪里来？

Don:  I’m coming fromShanghai, China.

唐：我从中国上海来的。

Eddy: What is the purpose of your visit?  Business or pleasure?

埃迪：你到这里来的目的是？商务还是娱乐？

Don:  I’m here on business.

唐：我来这里出差。

Eddy:  How long are you planningto stay in Australia?

埃迪：你准备在澳大利亚待多久？

Don:  I’ll be staying forthree weeks.

Eddy:  Where will you bestaying?

Don:  I’ll be staying at ahotel downtown

唐：我会住在市区的宾馆里。

Eddy:  Have you ever been toAustralia before?

Don:  No, this is my firsttime.

Eddy:  Do you have anything todeclare?  Any fruits, plants orvegetables?

If you say that someone is getting a free ride in a particularsituation, you disapprove of the fact that they are getting some benefit fromit without putting any effort into achieving it themselves. Get a free ride, 字面意思为“搭了一档免费的车”，它的实际意思指不依靠自己的努力和付出，而白白得到好处的行为。
