1.You will be asked between 5 to 12 questions which are related to Part 2’s topic
Examiner’s instructions during the Speaking Test ~
The examiner will say the following statement before he starts the speaking test. The tape recorder will be turned on at this point.
“This is the speaking module for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)conducted on the 4th of July, 2009 in DALIAN. The candidate is Liu Haibo. Candidate number 000007. And the interviewer is Steven Gerrard.”
After this, he will then ask 4 standard introductory questions in this order. Keep your answers short and to the point.
1.“Good morning/afternoon. My name is Steven Gerrard. Can you tell me your full name please?”
Answer: My full name is…
My family name is … and my given name is…
2.“What shall I call you?”
3.“Can you tell me where you’re from?”
4.“Can I see your identification, please?”
Answer: Here you are./ Here you go.
Now, the fun begins in Part 1.
“Now, in the first part, I’d like to ask you some questions about yourself. Let’s talk about what you do. Do you work or are you a student?”
“Let’s talk about… (a new topic)
“Let’s move on to the topic of (a new topic)
In Part 2, the examiner starts by saying...
“Now, I’m going to give you a topic, and I’d like you to talk about it for 1 to 2 minutes. Before you talk, you’ll have 1 minute to think about what you’re going to say. You can make some notes if you wish. Do you understand?
“Here’s your paper and a pencil for making notes. And here’s your topic. (The examiner hands you the cue card at this point). I’d like you to describe …..
“All right. Remember you have 1 to 2 minutes for this, so don’t worry if I stop you. I’ll tell you when the time is up. Can you start speaking now, please?”
In Part 3, the examiner starts by saying…
“We’ve been talking about (Part 2’s topic) and I’d like to discuss with you 1 or 2 more general questions related to this. Let’s talk about first of all,….
Finally! The end!
“Ok, thank you very much. That’s the end of the speaking test.”
雅思口语评分标准
雅思口语评分标准分为四大部分,分别为:f,v,g,p
f:即fluency,就是你的口语流畅度。如果在考官问你问题的时候,你可以很流畅地回答,期间没有明显停顿,或没有明显思考的停顿的话(如果用时间计算的话,大概《5秒吧),那么恭喜你,你在f这个部分,至少有6分。
v:即vocabulary,就是你说口语时所用到的词汇。其实,在这部分,一般很容易拿到6分的,只要你不要用错词汇。而且,在考口语时,也不需要你说一些多难多深奥的词汇,只要说一些一般的语汇就ok了。总结:词汇一定用你熟悉的,简单也无所谓,只要没用错,你肯定在这部分至少有6分。
g:即grammar,就是你说口语时所说到的语法。如果你的语法出了一些错误(少量的),那么你还是可以得到6分的。但是,一但语法错得比较多(占4成左右),那么你就肯定在这部分的得分少于6分了。另外,如果你基本上没有语法出错,你在这部分拿7分也是容易的事。主要要注意的语法是:一般过去时和一般现在时单三。
p:即pronunciation,就是你的口语发音了。现行的口试评分中,对于发音的评分,考官根据9级发音评分量表给出2分、4分、6分、8分四种评分结果。

2.Should I equate big words with higher scores?
Answers: It is not necessary to use big, awe-inspiring words and convoluted sentences.
3.Will templates work?
Answer: It depends.

Interviewer: how do you think of the idea that we should protect wild animals and send them all into zoos?
Candidate: Humm, that is a very good question. Let me think about it…(several seconds later) Ah! Sir, I finally found a good answer to your question. But I am not sure if I understood your question correctly… So, could you please say that question again?

4.How can we use online collections of past test questions wisely?
Answer: It is good that we have the source to prepare for the oral part of the IELTS , but a fly in the ointment is there is too many questions in the collections.
5.Am I supposed to butter up the examiner?
Answer: Are you really up to anything the interviewer may be interested in?
6.What should I do when I can’t fully understand a question?
Answer: I beg your pardon?
